Regulatory Requirements
Employees in General Industry exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 85 decibels or more are required to receive training.
Course Topics
- The effects of noise on hearing.
- The purpose of hearing protection, the advantages, disadvantages, and attenuation of various types.
- Instructions of selection, fitting, use and care of hearing protection.
- Review of audiometric testing and test procedures.
- Review of Hearing Conservation Program and elements of OSHA 1910.95.
- Mitigation controls for noise.
