Hearing Conservation Training (Occupational Noise Exposure and Mitigation) 

Regulatory Requirements 

Employees in General Industry exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 85 decibels or more are required to receive training.

Course Topics

  • The effects of noise on hearing.
  • The purpose of hearing protection, the advantages, disadvantages, and attenuation of various types.
  • Instructions of selection, fitting, use and care of hearing protection.
  • Review of audiometric testing and test procedures.
  • Review of Hearing Conservation Program and elements of OSHA 1910.95.
  • Mitigation controls for noise.
