Join us this month for a leadership session focused on one of the most challenging workplace transitions: going from peer to boss.

Management is a learned skill, and new managers benefit from clear instruction to succeed in their new role, especially when they are learning how to relate to former peers. Research shows that nearly 60 percent of respondents identified adjustment to people management and displaying authority as their biggest challenge. This session examines what truly helps leaders establish credibility, set boundaries, and lead with confidence while maintaining strong relationships, as well as how HR can offer meaningful support.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to
  • Help new managers use clear language to acknowledge the shift and reset expectations with their former peers
  • Specify ways to let go of individual contributor skills and approaches and develop new behaviors that support confident leadership
  • Identify the top skills new managers need to lead their teams successfully
  • Support learning plans and methods that build management and leadership capabilities
  • Describe how to lead with humanity and consistency
